Night Patrol
Night Patrol is a Special Work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Sydney. Two vans go out on the streets of Sydney offering much needed service to those experiencing homelessness. Night Patrol provides hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, blankets and conversation to, on average, 120 people every night of the year.
CBHS Lewisham is responsible for one van every fourth Saturday. Primary students donate the items, whilst senior students accompany members of staff on the evening.
This is thoroughly rewarding experience for students. While the focus of Night Patrol is helping those on the street, it cannot be denied that the simple joy of helping someone touches each volunteer.
