Students of Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham are provided a rich and diverse range of musical ensembles and activities. The diverse range of ensembles ensures that the musical interests of all students are catered for.
Our ensembles include:
In addition to these regular ensembles students are also provided the opportunity to participate in larger performance events throughout the school year. The biannual school musical is one such example. In partnership with local Catholic girls’ schools we have staged such shows as Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, All Shook Up, Barnum and Footloose! In 2018 the school staged a production of Godspell. These productions are always a highlight on the school calendar and provide opportunities for any student in the school to participate.
Throughout the year there are also Soiree evenings which allow students from our elective music classes to showcase their talents to their parents, friends and the wider community.
Another highlight of the year is our annual band performance evening which features out 65 piece Concert Band and full complement Jazz Band. Both of these ensembles have rigorous performance schedules throughout the school year both internally and entertaining the wider community.
All students of Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham are encouraged to participate in the musical ensembles and opportunities of the school and an extensive Instrument Tuition Program is available for students interested in learning an instrument for the very first time.
