Off-Campus Learning 

From Monday 30th March 2020 CBHS Lewisham has moved to Off-Campus Learning as a precaution against COVID-19 for the remainder of Term One. 

Primary

Classes will be run as per the teacher’s instructions each day. Boys are expected to be set up, appropriately dressed, groomed and logged in with their full name for Off-Campus Learning via Google Classroom and Zoom (camera is optional) by 9am.

 

Secondary

Classes will follow the timetable. Boys are to be set up, appropriately dressed, groomed and logged in with their full name for Off-Campus Learning via Google Classroom and Zoom (camera is optional). At the start of each lesson the attendance roll will be taken. Teachers will then communicate how their lesson will run and the expectations for each lesson.

 

Classes will follow the timetable. Class times for every day are shown below. There will be no Homeroom and school will end early on Thursday.

Off-Campus Learning Period Times

Period 1              9:00 –9:50

Period 2              10:00 –10:50

Recess                10:50 –11:30

Period 3              11:30 -12:20

Period 4              12:30 -1:20

Lunch                  1:20 -2:10

Period 5               2:10 -3:00 (No Period 5 on Thursdays)

A couple of key points:

  • The code of conduct is in effect at all times during this period

  • As there is no ‘Home Room’. All boys will receive student notices via their email each day,

  • Our School Counsellors have been busy updating the CBHS Lewisham Counselling Services Site with resources and contacts for both families and students during this challenging time

What about assessment tasks?

Primary

As of Wednesday 25th March and for the remainder of Term 1

  • All assessment tasks have been postponed and will be rescheduled

  • NAPLAN has been cancelled for 2020

 

Secondary

Year 12

  1. Postponed internal HSC assessment tasks from Term 1 2020 will be rescheduled for Term 2 2020. Revised Assessment Task Notifications will be notified to students, in writing via school email, to students in the form of a Revised Assessment Task Notification. Under these circumstances, the assessment task notification period will be two weeks.

  2. The format of internal HSC assessment tasks (excluding the Trial HSC examinations) will be via online submission and may include Viva Voce interviews to be conducted via Zoom.

  3. All remaining scheduled internal HSC assessment tasks for 2020, including Trial HSC examinations, will proceed. Any changes to the remaining scheduled internal HSC assessment tasks for courses (type of assessment task ONLY) will be notified to students, in writing via school email, in the form of a Revised Assessment Task Notification.

Year 11 

  1. Postponed Year 11 assessment tasks from Term 1 2020 will be rescheduled for Term 2 2020. Revised Assessment Task Notifications will be notified to students, in writing via school email, in the form of a Revised Assessment Task Notification. Under these circumstances, the assessment task notification period will be two weeks.

  2. The format of Year 11 assessment task (excluding Year 11 Examinations) will be via online submission and may include Viva Voce interviews to be conducted via Zoom

Year 10

What if I can’t keep my son home?

If you are unable to keep your son home and he is well, we ask that you advise studentservices@cbhslewisham.nsw.edu.au to allow for us to plan for supervision.

 

Boys who are sent to school will participate in the same Off-Campus Learning as boys who are at home and will not be engaged in face-to-face learning. Boys will arrive at school by 8:40am where they will be supervised for the timetabled day and dismissed as per the class times.

What about extracurricular clubs, bands, teams, etc?

All extracurricular activities, clubs, tutoring and after school study groups are cancelled until further notice.

What if my email/Zoom/Google Classroom are not working?

If any of your school applications are not working please contact IT via helpdesk@cbhslewisham.nsw.edu.au . IT Helpdesk, however, cannot help you if you are having internet or other technical issues. For these issues please contact your service provider (Telstra, Optus etc.).

How do I contact my son's teachers?

Please refer to your son's diary for the usual process for contacting teachers, PC's or any other member of staff.
