Teacher Librarian
Christian Brothers’ High School, Lewisham is an independent Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition catering boys from Years 5-12.
We are looking for a Teacher Librarian who is a passionate educator with a love for literature and a commitment to fostering a culture of reading and learning across the school. This is a permanent, part time position working 4 days per week (hours are negotiable).
The successful candidate is someone who is eager to inspire students, collaborate with staff, and contribute to the teaching of information literacy and literature programs. This role entails a combination of classroom teaching as well as library maintenance and administering information resources and services to facilitate teaching and learning.
About you
- Appropriate teaching and librarianship qualifications
- High-level digital literacy
- Experience in the development and maintenance of Library resources
- Eligibility for membership of ALIA
- A proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting the Edmund Rice charism
- An understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice
- Passionate in meeting the educational and wellbeing needs of young men
