The CBHS Liturgy Band stepped into Parliament Studios in Leichhardt for a full professional recording session last month — their prize for winning this year’s Battle of the Bands! The boys recorded a cover of “Say It Ain’t So” by Weezer and impressed everyone with their focus, teamwork, and musicianship.

Students from the runner-up band also joined the excursion, getting a behind-the-scenes look at studio life — from recording workflows to mixing desks and the craft of sound engineering.

The session was led by acclaimed producer Lachlan Mitchell, whose career includes nearly 400 albums and multiple ARIA awards. His expert guidance made the experience both inspiring and educational.

This hands-on opportunity gave our students a real taste of the music industry and the professionalism, preparation, and collaboration it demands. A brilliant day of learning and creativity!
