Learning Support Officer
- Temporary contract (12 months)
- Work during school hours 3, 4 or 5 days per week.
Christian Brothers’ High School, Lewisham is an independent Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition catering for 1,300 boys from Years 5-12. We understand the unique learning needs of boys and supports each student on their own journey. As a non-selective school we are committed to providing quality education to all students.
We are looking for a Learning Support Officer to join our Diverse Learning team. In this role, you will collaborate with Learning Support Teachers to provide exceptional support to students with additional learning needs.
In this role, you will:
- Provide practical assistance to support the learning of students with learning difficulties in and out of the classroom environment
- Deliver small group academic support to students through the running of targeted courses
- Assist the Diverse Learning Department with general administration duties
- Supervise students with additional learning needs
About you:
- You are suitably experienced or qualified in Education Support or working towards a degree in Teaching
- You have experience in the delivery of MultiLit programs (preferred)
- You possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- You’re interested in helping meet the educational and wellbeing needs of young men
- You have an understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice
- You are willing to support the Catholic ethos of the School
