Naidoc Assembly

Last week we proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with a whole-school assembly embracing the 2025 theme: The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy.

The celebration started with a powerful Smoking Ceremony, led by two proud Aboriginal Old Boys, Harry and Jake. Then processing into the hall, the assembly began with a vibrant Corroboree of traditional dances performed by CBHS’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students under the guidance of Mr Blake Griffith, Aboriginal Education Worker and proud Yorta Yorta and Kunjen man.

Families, community members, and guests from St Pius X Chatswood joined the celebration, sharing stories, reflection, and connection. The assembly encouraged all present to live out the values of this year’s theme not only during NAIDOC Week, but throughout the year—honouring those who came before, uplifting those around us, and believing in the generations yet to come.
