Peru Day / Build a Home Project
CBHS proudly continues its support for Edmund Rice Beyond Borders (ERBB) and the Fe y Alegría School in Canto Grande, Lima, through its annual Peru Day activities. Five Christian Brothers work at the school, supporting families living in extreme poverty on the outskirts of the city.
This year’s Peru Day brought our school community together to enjoy Peruvian music, empanadas, and Inca Cola—all while raising awareness and funds for the Build a Home project. This initiative will provide a family of five living in the slums above Lima with secure shelter and improved living conditions.
To deepen their understanding and support, 33 students and 6 staff took part in the Winter Sleepout, braving the cold to reflect on the challenges faced by marginalised communities.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students, families, and staff, we’ve raised over $7,000—enough to build a safe, secure home for a family in Lima.
