We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Diverse Learning to play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
About You
- Proven experience and appropriate qualifications in leading diverse learning and/or learning support programs within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education principles, current legislation, and NCCD requirements.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- The ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team of teachers and support staff.
- A commitment to the values and educational mission of the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Accreditation with NESA and a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
About the Role
The Head of Diverse Learning plays a key leadership role in ensuring that all students are supported to achieve their full potential. Working closely with the School Leadership Team, this position is responsible for:
- Leading a team of 8 Learning Support Teachers and 5 Learning Support Officers to deliver learning support initiatives for students from Years 5-12.
- Coordinating the EALD and Aboriginal Support programs.
- Support the literacy strategy across the school.
- Leading the strategic direction, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive education across the school.
- Managing the NCCD processes across the school.
- Coordinating the development, delivery, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalised learning supports.
- Overseeing internal exam and NESA disability provisions, adjustments, and compliance processes.
- Supporting and mentoring staff in evidence-based strategies that enhance learning access and student engagement.
- Collaborating with parents, external professionals, and staff to ensure consistent and effective support for students with diverse learning needs.
- Promoting a culture of empathy, understanding, and high expectations within the school community.
