Providing the right opportunities to excel
Christian Brothers’ High School values academic achievement and supports each boy to excel within his areas of interest and talent
As boys’ education specialists, CBHS Lewisham draws on best-practice pedagogy and a legacy of 130 years of experience to create an environment where boys can excel.
CBHS Lewisham is proudly non-selective and every boy is encouraged to find and achieve his unique academic ambitions. Our quality teaching, innovation, creativity and modern facilities provide the framework that allows each boy to achieve his full potential. The School supports each boy’s talents with a Diverse Learning Centre and a vibrant gifted and talented program.
CBHS Lewisham supports boys to be effective leaders and strong communicators. The curriculum is structured to provide boys with the tools and opportunities to excel academically from Year 5 to Year 12.
The wellbeing of your son is central to our philosophy. Your son will be supported throughout his school career, with programs in place to ensure that boys transition smoothly from primary to high school; Year 10 to the senior school; and from high school into society.
Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.
Socrates (470-399 BC)
From Year 5 to Year 6, CBHS provides a solid foundation to prepare boys for their secondary education.
In Year 7 and Year 8, our RISE program helps support all the boys as they transition through to secondary school.
STEAM Ahead
CBHS believes in an education that prepares each boy for the world of tomorrow. With modern, spacious and well-equipped STEAM facilities, and passionate, skilled teachers, each student has the opportunity to develop his curiosity about the world around him.
From primary to secondary, each boy is encouraged to engage with the subject matter in every STEAM discipline.
Our Results
CBHS is proud of the results achieved by our students over the last 130 years. Our students and teachers recognise the value of celebrating success and all the hard work that goes into their achievements.
Courses

Excellence in academic results has long been established as a CBHS hallmark. From its establishment to the present day, the school has always produced high academic achievers.
A comprehensive school, CBHS nonetheless strives for academic excellence. As on the sporting field, students are called to give their personal best.
