Years 7 and 8

RISE stands for Relational, Integrated, Student-centred Education and is CBHS Lewisham’s Years 7 and 8 Transition programme. This programme is designed to help students make the change from primary school to secondary school. RISE uses a cross-curricular learning approach across the English, Religious Education and HSIE (History and Geography) Key Learning Areas to help students in Years 7 and 8 to further their ability as independent learners with a love of learning. The RISE environment fosters critical and collaborative thinking for the Stage 4 learner and includes both cross-curricular teaching and assessment tasks.

In addition to their RISE classes, boys in Years 7 and 8 will also study Mathematics, Italian and French, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Science, Technology, Visual Arts and Music.

When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts
