Diverse Learning

Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham provides learning support to the diverse learning needs of students in light of the Four Touchstones: Liberating Education; Inclusive Community, Justice and Solidarity and Gospel Spirituality.

Learning that is high in challenge and high in support caters for the diverse learning needs of students and allows for equal access to the curriculum.

The Diverse Learning Centre (DLC) includes support in the areas of:

  • Students with Gifted and Talented potential
  • Students with learning difficulties,
  • Students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
  • Students learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect

The Diverse Learning Centre Team provides support to staff and students in the areas of inclusive practices, personalised learning, differentiated curriculum and where necessary, adjusted programs for students including expectations, class work and assessment tasks in line with the LEWO Learning Statement.

In most instances, the support of students in their learning is provided through core curriculum as determined by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.
