Edmund Rice Bursary

Since 2010, the Edmund Rice Bursary has been an integral part of our Reconciliation Action Plan to help close the gap. This plan is centred around the pillars of Relationships, Respect and Opportunities in the classroom, around the school and in the wider community. The Edmund Rice Bursary aims to provide local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with financial assistance towards the cost of education to support academic success and help future career opportunities.

Alongside the Edmund Rice Bursary, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families are supported through our Aboriginal Program. Led by proud Kunjen and Yorta Yorta man and CBHS Old Boy Mr Blake Griffith, the program helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students connect to Country and Culture whilst also helping to educate the whole school community.  It is our hope that not only will this bursary provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, but that the relationships made across the school community will break the cycles of inequality and cultural separation that exist in our nation.
